Childhood obesity | How to treat childhood obesity

Obesity treatment

There are many ways to treat obesity. Some people choose to go on a diet to lose weight, some people use drugs for treatment, and some people choose to treat obesity through exercise. But for children, are those methods of treating obesity also applicable? How should childhood obesity be treated?

The treatment of obesity in children is different from that of adults. Because it is in the stage of physical development, any excessive treatment method will hurt the healthy development of children. Also, children cannot cooperate with doctors as well as adults, which brings certain difficulties to the implementation of the treatment plan. Children and adolescents choose sports during their vacations to suit their physical conditions and their interests and hobbies.

However, it is worth noting that exercise must have a certain intensity to achieve the purpose of burning calories and fat, preferably aerobic exercise that sweats and feels accelerated heartbeat. Those who maintain weight exercise at least half an hour a day, and those who are overweight need to lose weight. Under the guidance of professionals, develop a targeted training plan, exercise at least 2 hours a day to achieve the goal of weight loss. The following is a set of weight loss exercises recommended by experts to everyone, suitable for teenagers and children to do on holidays:

1. Cycling

Lie on your back with your legs straight. Raise your feet and do the movement of pedaling the bicycle. Imagine that you are pedaling a bicycle. The head and the rest of the body should be flat on the ground. Do 12 forward rotations. After stopping for a while, start pedaling backward. After 12 times, bring your legs together and pedal in the same direction at the same time. Push forward 12 times and then backward 12 times. Rest in a lying position until you are completely relaxed and your breathing returns to normal.

2. Leg rotation

Lie on your back with your legs straight and your arms on your side. Lift the right leg off the ground, the knee still needs to be straight, and use the right leg to make a circular rotation movement in a clockwise direction. Keep the head and the rest of the body flat against the ground. After doing 8 rotations, do 8 counterclockwise rotations. Do the same exercise with your left leg. Rest for a few seconds, then raise your legs together, turn clockwise and counterclockwise 8 times, and rest until your breathing returns to normal.

3. Boat sports

Lie on your back, straighten your legs, lay your arms flat on your side, palms down, and inhale. At the same time, raise your head, upper torso, legs, and arms, and leave the ground. The toes and head are about 30% above the ground. ~60 cm, arms straight forward, parallel to the ground, holding your breath without breathing, while maintaining this position as long as possible, but don't force it, gradually lower your legs and torso to the ground while exhaling slowly. Relax your whole body and repeat this exercise 6 times. Rest for a few seconds, then do 6 more times. This time when the torso is raised from the ground, clenched both fists to make the muscles of the whole body tense, and then exhale, carefully put all parts back on the ground, and relax the whole body completely.

In addition to exercise, the treatment of childhood obesity is also very important in terms of diet. Therefore, the close cooperation of parents is particularly important. As far as diet therapy is concerned, parents must be involved, and parents are required to master some relevant knowledge, such as not allowing children to eat or overeat, and not to give high-calorie diets such as high sugar and high fat. It is also a difficult thing to treat children on a diet so that they can endure the suffering of hunger. Therefore, before proceeding with diet control, be sure to tell the children patiently and in detail about the hazards of obesity, the principles of dieting, and the treatment plan, to obtain their cooperation. This is crucial for the smooth progress of treatment.
